We are a democratic republic. Have been since 1789. What should be more important — the freedom to put forward your point of view or someone deciding if that opinion is true or not? That is the crossroads where we find ourselves today. For anyone who claims to be a conservative, this should not be a tough choice. Any way you slice it, freedom beats the truth police every time. To be sure, it would be great if what we absorbed from the multitude of available platforms — mainstream media, avowed opinionated media, social media, etc. — were able to be determined, in advance, to be truthful and accurate. The problem is as simple as this: as the famous saying goes, truth is often in the eye of the beholder. To allow one set of "beholders" to be the arbiter of what you and I are allowed to see is contrary to every fiber of what has defined our nation from its outset. Article Here

I haven't had the chance/time to read the article but I see where it starts out falsely stating: " We are a democratic republic. Have been since 1789."
That is false!
This country has been a Constitutional Republic since 1789!" ("I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, And to the Republic for which it stands ...")
There is a difference between a constitutional republic and a democracy. A “democracy is run by people. A republic is run by the laws of it's constitution.”
A Constitutional Republic is a system of laws to protect citizens and contain government.
In other words: In a democracy, the people meet and exercise the government in person; in a republic, they assemble and administer it by their representatives and agents.
I know that I'm "picking nits" here because I could probably make an argument for the other side but .. I wont. Why?
Because, as in that article, people have gotten too comfortable in declaring us a Democratic Republican Government which .. WE ARE NOT!

Paul, 'nit-pick' all you'd like. I don't mind 'cause I usually learn something new from you.

And they are trying so hard to overturn the constitution. They have been stepping on it for a long time. Along with allowing the burning and disrespecting our flag. We have to go back to if you come to this country to live, you live by our laws, speak our language and defend the country if needed. No flying another countries flag. Go back if you are proud of that flag. Stay and respect ours. Pet peeve of mine, hating this country while you reap her benefits on the back of the tax payer.

Pj, Dems don't care much for the Constitution. Or its Amendments.
Biden recently had said, "No Amendment is absolute."
